Basso Moderno Duo

The purpose of the BMC2 is build a new repertoire of works for solo bass and solo piano in order to promote the music of contemporary composers.
Winners are granted a recording of the work and multiple performances by the Basso Moderno Duo. Selected composers are given the opportunity to have a residency at the Basically Modern Arts Sanctuary.
Adjudicators: Dr. Harold Colin Cowherd (Chair), Basso Moderno Duo and guest composers.
Guidelines:
1. Work must be composed for high solo tuning (low-high) A d g c.

2. Work must treat bass and piano as equal solo instruments.
3. Work must be under 5 minutes in length.
4. Work must be notated at pitch (not sounding down an octave like traditional orchestra bass) We prefer that treble and bass clef are used.
